I was fascinated when I heard about all the benefits and healing elements of nicotine. My first thought was that more people need to know about this. Other countries commonly use nicotine for it’s healing properties, but America is basically run by Big Pharma, so it’s no surprise that this information is not more widely known.
I was skeptical at first, but after looking at the research with very credible sources, I was convinced that we have, yet again, been misled and misinformed for the purpose of lining Big Pharma’s pockets. I believe it is so important to stay open to new information and ideas especially if it challenges your current way of thinking. Sometimes we have to unlearn things we have been taught. Do your own research, and decide for yourself if it makes logical sense to you.

Dr. Bryan Ardis has a lot of research and sources around the science of nicotine. This is an in-depth PDF about how nicotine became demonized as well as many of the amazing medicinal properties of the naturally occurring chemical. I encourage you to read this PDF and check out his site. He has also done podcasts around the topic, too.
Nicotine is found in eggplants, tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, and of course tobacco. Although tobacco is the main component of cigarettes, it’s the other thousands of toxic/carcinogenic chemicals added that make cigarettes so dangerous. Basically, tobacco companies and the FDA flat out lied about nicotine being addictive, and when the CEOS of 7 major tobacco companies were asked if nicotine was addictive under oath, they all said no. This is elaborated on in the PDF linked above.
So, not only is nicotine alone not addictive, but it has been found to cure many diseases and illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease, MS, Alzheimer’s, all types of arthritises, and myocarditis. It is also been shown to improve certain traits of autism. To me, this is just another example of how powerful nature is.
Nicotine can be used for less severe treatments, too. It has been shown to increase brain waves that lead to feeling calmer. It helps with weight loss and appetite control as well as protecting the gut. Nicotine is also commonly used to help with ADHD symptoms. You can also use it as a preventative measure, too. Every cell in our body has a nicotine receptor, so it would only make sense that we are supposed to use nicotine in some way.
You can get nicotine gum, lozenges or patches to put on your skin at almost every drug store. Dr Ardis has a PDF on how to use nicotine if you’re looking for more specific answers. I usually take nicotine lozenges whenever I think of it. I keep them in my car, and I make sure to take them frequently if I’m starting to feel sick.

Maybe that’s why it’s recommended to use when you are trying to quit smoking. Maybe it helps with all the withdrawal symptoms from all the chemicals in the cigarettes, and the nicotine is actually making you feel better. That’s just my theory, but I do believe there are so many beneficial plants and resources found in nature that we need to find our way back to.
